How to Make a QR Code for Your Business (WiFi, WhatsApp, Links)
QR codes are everywhere — restaurant menus, shop counters, visiting cards. They save customers from typing long links and phone numbers. Here's how to make one for free.
Create your QR code
- Open the QR Code Generator.
- Choose a type:
- Link / text — your website, Instagram, Google Maps location or menu.
- WiFi network — guests scan and connect without asking for the password.
- WhatsApp chat — opens a chat with your number, with an optional pre-written message.
- Phone number — calls you in one tap.
- Pick colours that match your brand (keep the code dark on a light background).
- Download the PNG and print it or add it to your designs.
Ideas for shops and restaurants
- A WhatsApp QR on the counter: "Scan to order on WhatsApp".
- A WiFi QR on each table.
- A Google review link QR on receipts.
- A menu link QR on the door.
Printing tips
- Minimum size: 2 × 2 cm for cards, 10 × 10 cm for posters.
- Contrast matters: dark code, light background. Avoid light-on-dark.
- Leave a white border around the code.
- Always test with two different phones before printing 500 copies.
Do they expire?
No. DoraPDF creates static QR codes — the information is stored inside the code itself, so it works forever and there's no subscription.
